Your Questions, Answered

    • I believe that successful investing is built on simplicity, low costs, and tax efficiency. My approach assumes that markets are generally efficient, so I focus on capturing market returns through low-cost index funds rather than trying to “beat” the market with expensive, active trading. I utilize a Buckets Approach to give every dollar a purpose: I keep your short-term spending needs in safe, liquid assets while allowing your long-term wealth to stay invested for growth. Ultimately, I care most about your net return—what you actually keep after fees and taxes—so that your portfolio directly supports your specific life goals.

    • Most financial advisors charge a percentage of your total investments (usually 1% or more). This means as your hard-earned savings grow, your advisor gets a "hidden" raise, regardless of how much work they actually do.

    • At JKD Financial, I think there is a better way. Flat-Fee means you pay a transparent, fixed price based on the complexity of your situation and the time required to manage it. You pay for my expertise and service, not the size of your bank account. It removes the conflict of interest and ensures you always know exactly what you are paying for.

  • I built this firm to solve the three biggest frustrations I saw in the traditional financial world:

    1. Integration: Most people have a "money guy" and a "tax guy," but those two rarely speak. As both a CFP‍® ‍Professional and an Enrolled Agent, I handle your investments and your tax preparation under one roof. This ensures your strategy is seamless and nothing falls through the cracks.

    2. True Responsiveness: Most firms try to scale indefinitely, which leads to advisors managing hundreds of relationships. I am intentionally keeping my client base small. This allows me to provide deep, holistic planning and actually be available when you have a question or a life change. You are a priority, not a number in a database.

    3. A Fairer Pricing Model: I’ve ditched the "percentage of assets" model. I charge a transparent flat-fee based on the actual work I do for you. This removes the conflict of interest and ensures that as your wealth grows, you keep more of it.

    • Client investment accounts are held at Charles Schwab.

    • Short answer, yes. I plan to re-evaluate fees every 3 years. At which point it is likely that I will make some sort of cost of living update.

    • Yes I do! Having the ability to do taxes was one of the major reasons I elected to start this firm. You can find more information about pricing under the services & fees tab.
